I felt adventurous even when I was young. My friends and I, crowded in a Jeep (with a tent and gas cooker), toured remote and romantic areas away from main tourist attractions. But I could not inspire my wife to this kind of vacationing.
Then, a few years ago, my wife and I visited the Off-Road convention in Munich, Germany. The UNICAT booth, with its gigantic expedition vehicles, drew my attention\u2014and my wife’s as well. We admired these high-quality vehicles and I became aware that I had finally found an off-road vehicle offering a high level of comfort even on long trips.
After that, I kept thinking of these UNICAT vehicles and finally convinced my wife that this would be the perfect vehicle for us currently available on the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I (being Swiss) was enthused by the excellent quality of workmanship. I had already owned a boat and knew that a beautiful interior might be nice, but quality in every area is even better. What does this mean? It means a whole lot when it comes to expedition vehicles: It must be reliable; be in the shop only very rarely; have very low repair and maintenance costs. And most of all: it must live longer and have a high resale value.
Quality has its price. There are many cheaper products available but they do not compare to UNICAT upon closer inspection. UNICAT listens to the requests and ideas of its customers\u2014as long as it doesn’t affect quality. After thorough consideration and careful planning of all details, we ordered an MM12-HD with all possible options.
All of our requests were integrated into the construction of our vehicle. And when it was done, it fulfilled our vision perfectly. We received comprehensive instructions and had a good, safe feeling when we started out on our first trip. Our vehicle proved its reliability (a pleasant surprise) from the start and my wife and I have been able to take several beautiful trips since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After two years of crisscrossing Europe and Northern Africa, I would have been happy if my wife would have hopped into the driver’s seat occasionally. My wife however, was not willing to sell the vehicle after only two years and approximately 30,000 km. Since the vehicle was in a faultless condition, Mr. Ritter gave us a fair offer that we just could not refuse.
We are currently waiting for our new expedition vehicle, which will be another 4×4 MAN but a TGA model with automatic transmission. We didn’t miss any creature comforts since our vehicle is very well equipped. True, pure luxury! We just returned from our one year tour of Canada, the USA and Mexico. Our expedition vehicle was admired from Alaska to Mexico and it never failed us over the years.
We have been on the road since 2002 and my wife would now rather stay home a bit more; but I still want to see more of this world. However, the vehicle is a bit too big for just one person and I would like to sell it and have my third vehicle built by UNICAT, also.
